Jerome-we know from the book by Charles Pellegrini (1982)- experimented in a way absolutely prodigious the presence of Mary in his own life. According to the words we can read on the tombstone in the church of Treviso on the 27th of September 1511 the saint left his chain of captivity in the secrets of the fortress where he was in fetters after having been looked by the Madonna herself who appeared to him in a radiant way meternally speaking to him, setting him free, holding him up and then even accompanying him across the enemies ‘camp to let him feel not only her phisycal presence but expecially the mind, the heart and the will at last free, and making him become little by little the father of thr very abandoned cildren and the orphans by gathering around him a huge mass of disciples and brethern.
