Lucia herself testifies the event in the latest book the "Queriniana" introduces as " Lucia Relates Fatima"- memories, letters-documents under the original title "Memorias e cartas de irmà Lùcia". A mine of extraordinary information on a fact which has passed through a quarter of a century and just now has came out to its complete blooming.

The simple but resolute narration of the three shepard children apparition by does good even to those not able to abandon "earthly things" and leads to a spiritual reality very difficult to decade. Fist the 3 cildren meet the Guardian Angel of Portugal, their country and -as they say-he teaches them new and beautiful prayers." -"My Lord, I believe in You , adore You , Y trust You and love You- I ask mercy for all the ones who don't believe , don't adore You, don't trust and lave You!". For three times the Angel prays in such a way and then says :"Pray like this , Jesus and Mary's hearts hear your entreaties "- And then: "What are you doing? Pray, pray a lot! Jesus and Mary's hearts have plans of merci through you : constantly offer sacrifices and worchip to the Almigthy". Give up something in compensation for the sins which offend him and in supplication for the sinner's conversion.

Get peace this way for your country: I am its Guardian Angel, the Angel of Portugal but firstly accept and bear obediently the sufferings God will give you."

Icilio Felici in this beautiful volume, reesamined and extended by Eugenio Fornasari, says that was a "real annunciation for the three seers . On a second coming -this is wath the shepard children report - the Angel invite them to address a new prayer to Gad: " "Holy Trinity , Father, Son and Holy Ghost i deplay worschip and offer you the most precious body, blood, spirit and divinity of Jesus Christ who is present in all the world's tabernacles as amends for the injuries, sacrileges, and unconcern to Jesus himselfs.And for the infinite merits of his Holy Hearth and the immaculate heart of Mary I pray for the conversion of miserable sinners". And by showing them the calice und host he said : " Eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ who is horribly outraged and soothe your Lord".

In the spring of the following year (1917) at the Cova following tho dazzling flaches of light here comes on a small green ilex a Lady far more shining then the sun; in a tender embrace and reassuring voice …" Dont be afraid. I wont do you any wrong. Lucia asks :" Where are you from? " "I came from Heven" "And wath do you want from mi" "I came to ask you to get here for 6 months on the 13th of each month at this same hour. I will then tell you who I am and what I want, I'll came again a seventh time". " And will i reach heven too?" "Yes" "And Giacinta?""She will too" " And Francisco?" "So he will, but he has to say the rosary": Lucia remembers two girls who have recently died :"Is Maria das Neves in Heven yet?" "Yes, she's there" "And Amelia?""She will be in Purgatory till the end of the world".And Lucia again :"Will the war be soon over or will it last for much time longer?" " I can't answer now, I have to tell you my desire". The shining Lady goes on speaking "Will you offer your life to God and are you ready to accept all the pains he will give you in reparation of the conversion of sinners? Will you offer yourselves to Gad and bear all the sufferings he will send you as amends for the sins which insult him and as a petition for the sinner's regeneration?" "Yes, we will!"

Then you will much suffer, but the Grace of God will comfort you…" The very moment the Lady pronounced those last words, she opened her hands for the first time and transmitted such a deeps light, a sort of glare coming out and into our hearth and our deepest soul that we could reflect ourselves in God who was that light in such clear a way no to mirror. can be compared. On an inmost impluse we immediately fell on our Knees and deeply repeated: Blessed Trinity , I adore you My Lord, I love thrugh the Holy Sacrament":

After a while Our Lady added:" Say the rosary every day togain peace in the world and the end of the war" Then the Lady began risingup in the widening skay…. And June 13th arrived, the feast of Saint Antony but for the three profhets the celebretion is now" The feast of Mary" at the Cova da Iria. Suddently Lucia esclaimed:" Here's a flash: now the Lady will come".In a rush she led to the ilex followed by her cousins. The dialogue between Lucia and the Holy Vergin is astonishing: Lucia"You told me to come here. Will you please tell me what you want from me? " I want to ask you to come here on the 13th of next month- to go on sayng the rosary every day and I want you to learn reading so that I can tell you what I desire".

She asked for the Healing of a sick man. " He has to be converted and he will recover within the year "I'd like you to take us to Heaven." " Yes, I'll do that: Jacinta and Francisco will be whit me soon, but you have to stay here for some more time.Jesus needs you to make people know me and love me. He wants the world to be confirmed whit the devotion for my immaculate heart: I promise spiritual salvation to the devotees.These souls will be the privileged and I will place them like flowers before his throne. " Will I remain here alone? " " No, my daughter " Is this very painful? Don't lose your hert, I will never abandon you. My pure heart will be your shelter and your path to God.

It was on pronouncing these words that she opened her hands and trasmitted, for the second time, that glare of deep light through which we could see us as if steeped in God. Before the palm of Our Lady's right hand stood a hearth crowned whit thorns that seemed to be nailed into. We under stood it was Mary's pure heart, outraged by the sinners of humanity, that needed reparation. More then 2000 people were at the Cova da Iria on July 13th to see the seers who are able to behold Our Lady.

At noon, following the usual flash the Lady comes… "What do you want from me? "I want"-the apparition answered-" I want you to come here again on the 13th of the following month and I want you to keep telling your beads to the Lady of the Rosary every day to obtain the world peace and the end of the war. Because only the Lady can succour you." "I would like to ask you to say who you are, to work a miracle so that every body believes in your apparition" "Keep coming here every month. In October I will say who I am what I want and I will work a miracle to be seen by all the people for good credit. To further request of mercy the apparition answered"….. She wouldn't heal the crippled nor free him from poverty:should he say the rosary whit his family every day cristead. The inform had not to hurry. She better Knew abaut the right time to come and take him. The others would receive the desired favours during the following year, but they had to tell their beads.

" Offer you sacrifices for the sinners and many times, especially when you give ap something repeat on, Jesus it's for your devotion, for the sinners conversion and for reparation of the evil deeds aganist the Immaculate Hert of Mary"! "Notting more from me today?" "No, today I want nothing more ""Nor do it " exclaimed Lucia… This time all those present could see a small white cloud falling down over the ilex together with a merked reduction of solar light… But that day the mother of the lord again entrusted a secret in three part to be kept unrevelaed; the two fist ones were disclosed by Lucia, for obedience, in 1941 concerning "the spiritual salvation-the first- and the "Devotion for the Immaculate heart of Mary- the second. The third one is still a mistery.

Lucia explains :"On sayng these last words , the Lady opened her hands again as in the two previous months. The reflection seemed to pierce the ground and we saw a sea of fire. Deep in those flames, devils and souls, as transparent and blak or bronze as burning human like embers, were floating in the fire, transported by the flames getting out of them together with clouds of smoke falling down from everywhere like dropping sparks in great fire, with no weigth or balance, among painful cries and lamentations which were horrible to see and made us shake with fear. The demons were recognisable in the chape of hideous, repulsive and dreadfully strange animals as glassy as blak burning coals. Frightened and in quest for help we rose our eyes sadness :You have seen the hell, where the miserable sinners souls go". "To redeem them The Lord want to set in the word the devotion for my pure heart .If you do what I tell you to do meny souls will be rescued and peace will be made. The war is approaching its end. But if they don't stop offending the Lord, under Pope Pious XI, a worse war will start. When you see a nightly sky lit by an unidantified beam, you'll come to know that is the great sign seut by Gog to announce the near punishment of the word for its many crimes with war, famine, persecution of the Church and the Pope. "To avoid that" I'll come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the emending communion on the first Saturday of each month. If you answer my demands, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not the world will spread its errors and there will be wars and persecution against the Church. The Holy Father will suffer long… lots of nations will be annihilated…" At last my Pure Heart will triunph, the Holy Father will dedicate me Russia which will be converted and the earth will enjoy a peaceful period of time.

Portugal will always keeps the dogma of Faith". The Vergin said "Don't tell this anybody except Francisco" and them"When you say the rosary, at the end of each ten repeat: My Jesus, forgive our faults , guard as from the fire of hell, take to Heaven all the souls and bring help especiaslly to the ones who most deeplay need your mercy. The fourth meeting with the Lady was approaching: August 13th: and on the small ilex there came the quivering flash soon before a while shining cloud… that disappeared almost immediately. But the children are not able to be at the meeting because the mayor a strong anticlerical, has cheated them to the town hall…they obviously are considered dangerous for the night- minded ones. Nothing could Keep them from thinking of the Lady who wouldn't see them at the Cova da Iria even if it was not their fault… For no reason they would reveal the secret confided by the Mother of God and no menace would change their mind… The secret "They were not allowed to show it because Our Lady commanded them not to reveal it to anyone. They are then imprisoned … nor that can draw them away from their promise to Mary. They are threatened with death but even so they won't change their mind… But the nicest surprise for them was on the following Sunday. On the 19th at a place called Valinhos Our Lady arrived unexpeetedly to soothe their suffering and anguish for not being on the 13th at the Cova. "What do you want from me?" that's the usual question from Lucia. " I want to tell you to insist on gonig to the Cova da Iria on the 13th day of the month, to go on with the every day roary. In the last month I will work a miracle so that everybody can believe. If you hadn't been taken to the village the wonder would have been more prodigious " "What have we got to do with the money people leave at the Cova da Iria? "Let them make two stretchers: one to be pushed by Jacinta and you and two other girls and the other by Francisco and three more boys. The money for the stretchers is to celebrate the feast of our Lady of the rosary and what is left is for a chapel to be built.

"I would like to pray you the healing of some sufferers… "Yes, some will recover withim the year" "Pray, pray a lot; and sacrifice yourselves for the sinners, you see, lots and lots of souls go to hell because no one does penance pray for them". After that she began ascending the sky towards the east and fated away. On the fifth apparition at the Cova da Iria there was a huge crowd coming from everywhere abaut 12.000. It's the 13th of September and 12 o' clock is striking… and a circle of light is coming from the east and west…Mary beguis talking to her little loves… " Persist in telling your beans to gain the end of the war. In October here will come the Lord, the Sorrowful Lady, tha Lady of Mount Carmel , Saint Ioseph and the Holy Child in order to bless the world. God is satisfied with your sacrifices but doesn't want you to sleep wearing the cilice. Wear it only during the day". "I was asked to plead for many things: the relief of some sik people, of a deaf-mute. "Yes, I will cure some, others won't recover. In October I will work a miracle so that everyone can believe in me." During the conversation the Lady let anyone clearly see a portion of the sky getting as yellow as gold and a withe nimbus circling the ilex and the seers its halo. And wheen the apparition took leave all the onlookers could wach the bright globe rising up in to the sky and a rain of innumerable white petals falling onto the earth to soon vanish. The following month October, Our Lady schuld take leave of the Cova da Iria, because she exactly stated the 13th of October as the date of her last apparition. Consequently they all were anxiously waiting for the foretold miracle. On the morning of the 13th an incredible crowd had already gathered coming from the surroundings and many from Oporto us well , Coimbra, Lisbon togheter with the national and international press special correspondent.

About 70.000 were thoght to be there for the event. In an incessant drizzle they begin to say the rosary… at 12 o'clock sharp Lucia announces she care perceive the "flash". "Here she is, here she is- Lucia is already enraptured by the apparition… "What do you want me to do"? "I want them to build here a chapel to honour me. I want to tell you I am the Lady of the Rosary, I want to ask them to persistently tell their beads every day. The war will end and the soldiers will soon come back home"! "I would have many questions for you: will you heal the sufferers will you convert the sinners…"? "Yes, some will be healed, others won't. They must mend their faults, beg for the forgiveness of their sins". Thy mustn't offend Our Lord any longer because he has already been miserable offended. The Vergin at this point opened her hands and made them reflect in the sun. While she was ascending the glare her own light was shining in the sun. Moved by deep inspiration Lucia told out everyone to look up to the sun - there- where the Lady went away in the immense firmament - by the sun the prophets saw Saint Joseph and the Holy Child and Our Lady in a voile dress and azure cloak. Saint Joseph and the Holy Child semed to bless the world waving the hands shape of cross. Some minutes later they watched another scene:"The Lord and the Lady looked like the Sorrowful Lady. In Lucia is opinion the Lord seemed to bless the earth in the same way as Saint Joseph did. Then a third picture followed:"Our Lady bearing the semblance of the Lady of Mount Carmel".

All the people there from the ones near the seers to those who were lots of kilometres away were able to witness the great prodigy the Holy Lady was ready to grant, the wonder to be called"the miracle of the seen"! The miracle Lucia has been promised by the Holy Lady for the people was to happen. Rain suddenly stopped, the clouds broke, the disk of the sun appeared similar to a silver moon and began to spin like a wheel of fire, projecting in every direction colourful beams of light which fantastically inflamed the clouds, the trees, the rocks, the land and were reflected on the huge crowd looked dazzed:thay all beheld that. And there were a few moments of rest and them again a dance of light as it was a bright and glowing whirl . Once more stop, then, for the third time, the most blazing, colourful, beautiful,fireworks. The multitude there thinks the sun is going to come off the firmament and fire them so they chorally cry whit astonischments and terror" Miracle, miracle"! When all that is over clothes previously soaked are completely dry and so are the people that feel like begging forgiveness for their offences the Lord. The Oly Lady had really and truly and descended on the Cova da Iria and had worked wonders before everyone so that all the onlookers could see and witness"! Her message is one of mercy and spiritual salvation! But for the prophets the apparition is not over: the vergin is slawly ascending against the solar light to vanish… and by the sun there comes a further picture: the Sacred Family. On the right Our Lady in her cerulean mantle displays a face more shining than the sun itself; on the left Saint Joseph and the Holy Child blessing the world as a sign of redemption. Then Lucia perceives another scene: the Lord blessing the people and again Our Lady in the appearance of Our Lady of Sorrows first and then of Mount Carmel.
